What is Parabolani?
“Love is the province of the brave” ~ Mahatma Gandhi
Parabolani.
It’s pronounced PAIR-UH-BUH-LON-EYE, and Wikipedia defines it as the “members of a Christian brotherhood who in the Early Church voluntarily undertook the care of the sick and the burial of the dead.” These guys were true love. They risked their own lives to take care of the sick and dying. They took care of the lepers. Those infected with the plague. The Parabolani loved the ones the rest of the world cast out and declared “unclean”. They did the job no one wanted to do.
They handed over their very life and well-being to show God’s unconditional love. Sometimes we don’t fully comprehend that word: unconditional. It means “not withheld at all”, “unrestrained”, “at all expense”. God does not care about what’s wrong with you. He loves you. No questions asked. No restrictions apply. That’s what these guys were about. Love. Hope for those who had given it up.
That is what I want to show, through my music. Hope and Love. That’s what I want Parabolani to be.
